Purchasing Agent

This is a unique opportunity for the right individual. You will be working for a Model Home Interior Design Firm and your job will not just consist of purchasing. You must be flexible and adapt to change quickly as you will be purchasing for a variety of projects while collaborating with several different internal departments.

To succeed in this role, you will need excellent time management and communication skills as you will be collaborating with vendors, internal teams, and clients to meet strict deadlines. Ultimately the Purchasing Agent’s duties are to ensure that all items are purchased on time, under budget, and meet high “Five Star” quality standards.

Responsibilities include:

· Place orders with vendors and create accurate purchase orders

· Review purchase orders and compare to order acknowledgments to ensure accuracy

· Contact vendors to track orders/file damage claims with vendors and freight companies

· Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and vendor information

· Monitor vendor performance relating to quality and delivery timelines

· Monitor inventory and maintain accurate records of inventory

· Administration duties/filing & answering phones

Skills and Requirements:

· Strong Excel, QuickBooks, Microsoft Office skills

· Experience in order management/ logistics / vendor communication

· Articulate with extremely strong organizational skills

· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment

· Detail-oriented while multi-tasking

· Dependable and solid time management skills

· Establish work priorities, able to meet deadlines

· A resourceful mind and proactive and intuitive skills
