Purchasing Agent

Job Summary
Carpets N More is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Purchasing Agent to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and services essential to our operations. This role requires a strong understanding of flooring, RFMS, inventory control, and procurement processes. The Purchasing Agent will play a critical role in ensuring the timely availability of quality materials while optimizing costs and maintaining supplier relationships to support production planning and overall business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement processes including sourcing, purchasing, and contract negotiations to secure the best terms and prices.
• Utilize RFMS systems, purchase order creation, tracking, and inventory management.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials in alignment with production schedules and demand forecasts.
• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities based on quality, price, delivery timeframes, and reliability.
• Monitor inventory levels through inventory management systems to prevent stockouts or excess stock; implement inventory control strategies.
• Collaborate with supply chain management teams to optimize logistics, transportation, and warehousing activities.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships to negotiate contracts that benefit the organization while ensuring quality standards are met.
• Analyze pricing trends and market conditions to make informed purchasing decisions that support cost reduction initiatives.
• Support production planning by providing procurement insights related to materials availability and lead times.
• Maintain accurate records of purchase transactions, supplier performance evaluations, and contract documentation.
• Stay updated on industry best practices related to procurement, sourcing strategies, e-commerce platforms, and supply chain innovations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles within manufacturing or supply chain environments.
• RFMS software.
• Flooring experience required.
• Familiarity with sourcing strategies, contract negotiation, logistics coordination, and supply chain optimization.
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to establish mutually beneficial supplier relationships.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in pricing analysis and cost control measures.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments including production planning, logistics, and finance.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an opportunity for a dedicated professional to contribute significantly to our supply chain efficiency while developing expertise in procurement strategies across diverse ERP platforms.

Pay: Up to $42,000.00 per year
