Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our parts department by assisting with various tasks related to inventory management, receiving, shipping, order processing, distributing parts, and customer service support while maintaining accurate records of inventory levels. This position requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of supply chain management, and the ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with company goals.
Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings.
Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with vendors to secure favorable conditions.
Assist with receiving, inspecting, and stocking incoming parts and supplies. Verify quantities received against packing slips or purchase orders.
Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper organization of parts and supplies within the parts warehouse.
Assist in processing parts orders, including picking, packing, and shipping.
Work closely with the Parts Department Manager and other team members to fulfill customer orders promptly.
Handle inquiries from customers regarding parts availability, pricing, Analyze purchasing data to identify trends, improve processes, and reduce costs.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance.
Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and free of safety hazards work environment in the parts department.
Assist in periodic warehouse audits to ensure compliance with procedures.
Monitor inventory levels and reorder parts as needed.
Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding order status and discrepancies.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior purchasing experience is preferred.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management software.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Must pass drug screening test.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks as needed.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Willingness to adhere to safety guidelines and protocols.
