JOB OVERVIEW

Under the direction of the Purchasing Manager, this position is responsible for purchasing the material and commodities assigned and having those materials delivered in time to support current production.

DUTIES

• Purchases material for all projects.
• Schedules materials ahead of production requirements “just in time”.
• Orders shortages on daily basis.
• Demonstrates strong understanding of modular construction, including blueprint reading across architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines. This includes reading blueprints and usage of raw materials during the construction process.
• Purchases standard materials for cycle counts.
• Maintains purchasing project files.
• Searches for new products and innovative ideas.
• Advises Purchasing Manager of all price changes.
• Assists in inventory entry and prices out inventory write-ins.
• Provides the Production Department and other departments with accurate information regarding special situations on the outside which affect the availability of materials.
• Provides the Sales and Engineering Departments with technical information on special material.
• Assists Purchasing Manager as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of previous purchasing experience in the construction field
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field preferred
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in Purchasing Software and Inventory Management Systems

Pay: $49,429.74 - $59,528.29 per year
