Job Description:

The Purchasing/Inventory Clerk is responsible for preparing purchase orders, maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring timely delivery of materials. This role performs regular inventory counts, verifies pricing and shipments, researches vendors, and supports efficient inventory control for the organization.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process purchase orders and maintain purchasing records.
  • Assist with order entry for customers.
  • Interact with suppliers to obtain accurate pricing, product specifications, and order confirmations.
  • Interact with staff and customers regarding inventory levels and lead times.
  • Verify order acknowledgments, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor and organize inventory levels and ensure physical counts match system records.
  • Lead quarterly inventory counts and conduct weekly cycle counts to maintain accuracy.
  • Compare deliveries with purchase orders and promptly resolve discrepancies.
  • Research vendors and product options to support cost-effective purchasing decisions.
  • Coordinate material returns and update system records accordingly.
  • Forward invoices to accounting and maintain accurate purchasing documentation.
  • Quote materials and supplies from multiple vendors to ensure competitive pricing and support cost-savings initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in purchasing, inventory, or a related administrative role preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional vendor relationships.
  • Proficiency with inventory systems and basic computer applications.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
