Position Overview

We are a fourth-generation, family-owned and operated buying company, and we’re expanding our traveling roadshow team nationwide. This role lets you work hands-on with incredible items, meet fascinating people, travel, and get paid to do what most people only dream about.

The Traveling Purchasing Agent represents the company at buying events, pop-up roadshows, and temporary locations across Washington. This role is responsible for evaluating, negotiating, and purchasing jewelry, precious metals, coins, collectibles, and other high-value items directly from the public while delivering a professional, ethical, and customer-focused experience.

This position requires strong product knowledge, attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to work independently while traveling.

Key ResponsibilitiesPurchasing & Evaluation

  • Evaluate and purchase items including (but not limited to):
  • Gold, silver, platinum, and fine jewelry
  • Coins, bullion, and numismatics
  • Watches, handbags, collectibles, antiques, and specialty items
  • Accurately test, weigh, authenticate, and grade items
  • Negotiate fair market pricing while protecting company margins
  • Clearly explain values, offers, and processes to customers

Customer Experience

  • Provide a professional, respectful, and transparent buying experience
  • Build trust through clear communication and ethical practices
  • Handle objections and questions confidently and calmly
  • Maintain a polished and professional appearance at all times

Documentation & Compliance

  • Accurately complete all required paperwork and purchase documentation
  • Verify seller identity and ownership statements
  • Follow all state and local secondhand dealer laws and hold requirements
  • Ensure all transactions are properly recorded (audio/video when required)
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and chain-of-custody procedures

Shipping & Inventory Control

  • Properly package, label, and ship purchased items per company standards
  • Ensure accurate counts, descriptions, and values on all shipments
  • Immediately report discrepancies, damage, or losses
  • Maintain responsibility for equipment and inventory while traveling

Travel & Event Operations

  • Travel regularly to assigned cities and states for multi-day events
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of event locations when needed
  • Work independently and as part of a small traveling team
  • Adapt to different venues, markets, and customer demographics

Required Qualifications

  • Must have proficient skills in math, multiplication, division, and different units of measurements.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • High level of honesty, professionalism, and accountability
  • Comfortable handling large-dollar transactions
  • Ability to travel frequently and work extended event hours
  • Valid driver’s license and clean background
  • Beable to travel throughout the state

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in google docs, drive, sheets, and chat.
  • Experience with roadshows, pop-ups, or traveling sales/buying events
  • Experience in collecting of any type.
  • Bilingual skills a plus

Performance Expectations

  • Meet or exceed company purchasing KPIs and close-rate standards
  • Maintain accurate paperwork, inventory counts, and shipping procedures
  • Protect company assets, reputation, and customer trust
  • Represent the brand with professionalism at all times

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $80,000 annually*
  • Commission: Up to 10%* based on performance, profitability, and compliance standards
  • Performance-based bonuses available in addition to commission
  • Approved travel expenses covered per company policy
  • Opportunity for advancement into Senior Buyer or Management roles
  • Sunday & Mondays off Half workday on Saturday.

*Salary, commission, and bonus eligibility are subject to successful training completion, ongoing performance metrics, compliance requirements, and company policies. Commission is earned only on completed, reconciled, and compliant transactions. Compensation structures may be modified at the company’s discretion.

Work Environment

This position involves frequent travel, extended hours during events, and handling valuable merchandise. The Traveling Purchasing Agent must be adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in fast-paced, customer-facing environments.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
