Overview:
The Purchasing Agent is responsible for sourcing and procuring materials and components required to support daily production, maintenance, and facility operations. This role ensures timely and cost-effective purchasing aligned with production schedules and logistics requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers.

Prepare purchase orders.

Track status of requisitions and purchase orders.

Evaluate inventory thresholds using ERP data & physical inventory count and initiate replenishment to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Ensure purchase orders align with production and logistics schedule.

Review requisition orders to verify accuracy, terminology and specifications.

Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports and price lists.

Coordinate with suppliers to expedite shipments and resolve delivery issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

One to three years previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience in a manufacturing environment; preferably in metal building components and accessories.
- Intermediate computer skills required; Outlook email, Word, Excel, ERP system.
