Seeking experienced purchasing agent for manufacturing company. Position requires emailing and speaking with multiple vendors throughout the day to ensure all products are delivered in a timely manner. Candidate must have a working knowledge of placing purchase orders, especially when it comes to communicating to our vendors to ensure we receive exactly what product or service needed. Communication and multitasking skills are a must while working in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include order processing for all materials and services the company requires. Computer skills are a must and ERP experience. Candidate must have minimum 3 years’ relative experience or degree in Business Administration or other qualifying skills.
Responsibilities
· Daily purchase order processing for all materials and supplies needed
· Daily purchase order processing for all services required i.e. plating, powder coat, welding etc.
· Shop materials with intent to get best pricing
· Follows up on orders for confirmation of delivery dates and quantities ordered
· Daily follow up on late orders
· Daily work with production to ensure we have materials available when needed
· Demonstrates competency to carry on a business conversation with vendors
· Communicates with production and customer service on order status if material will not arrive on time
· Help as needed with reports, invoices, and required paperwork
· Identifies and resolves vendor issues like incorrect paperwork
· Verify all pack lists, C of C’s, and invoices to ensure they meet our purchase orders specifications
· Establishes and maintains effective team relationships with support for all departments
· Follows all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes
Qualifications
· High school diploma minimum, preferably a bachelor’s degree
· At least three years as a purchasing agent
· Preferably understand manufacturing processes
· Experience in resolving vendor issues
· Experience working under pressure with multiple tasks/projects
· Proficient computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office suite
· ERP experience is preferred
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Strong organizational and time management skills
