The Purchasing Agent works in high volume purchasing of equipment, materials and supplies for System Logistics Corporation (SLC). The Purchasing Agent is required to plan and implement new ways to obtain all purchases to ensure on time delivery

Requests and purchases equipment and supplies

Ensures bids and invoices all meet the requested specifications

Assists in the negotiations of contracts

Maintains accurate vendor, contact, and pricing information

Monitors the cost, schedule and performance of vendors
-
Coordinates purchasing with all departments to maintain inventory at planned levels

Investigates vendor invoice discrepancies and works to bring resolution

Implements purchasing techniques to achieve cost reductions, optimal inventory levels, and improved vendor performance

Performs other duties as assigned

Two-Year Associates Degree and minimum 1 year on the job experience preferred

Proficient knowledge of SAP preferred

Computer skills (e.g., Excel, including MS Office)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to negotiate with vendors and maintain positive relationships

Experience purchasing for a manufacturing organization preferred
