Purchasing Agent - Resins - On-site

About the Company

We are a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging products. Our products serve diverse industries including food and beverage, bedding and furniture, and agricultural and building supplies. We are seeking a strategic, detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our team and help ensure we have the materials we need, when we need them, and at a competitive price.

What You’ll Do

As a resin buyer, you’ll play a critical role in our supply chain, reporting to the Director of Supply Chain. You’ll be responsible for sourcing raw materials and components, negotiating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and supporting production timelines. You will collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Warehousing departments to ensure the timely supply of critical materials across multiple locations. You would be expected to lead cost-reduction efforts, manage complex negotiations, and develop long-term partnerships with key suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and procure raw materials (e.g., resins, additives, colors, packaging).
• Logistics handling and monitoring of bulk resin shipments.
• Evaluate supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
• Negotiate pricing and delivery schedules and provide cost analysis summaries.
• Monitor inventory and forecast needs based on production schedules.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and logistics teams.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in purchasing, preferably in resin purchasing.
• Strong understanding of raw materials planning.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
• Familiarity with ERP systems and purchasing automation.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong analytical, organizational and writing skills.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
