Overview
The Purchasing/Inventory Clerk procures materials and services for OMNI Systems Labels, negotiates with vendors to meet business needs, and manages both finished goods and raw material inventory levels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Procurement:
· Prepare and coordinate the activities related to the procurement of materials and services in accordance with targeted inventory levels and on-time delivery requirements.
· Coordinate procurement activities with manufacturing and other operations to ensure a timely flow to meet Market Rate of Demand requirements.
· Administer the supply base with emphasis on cost reductions, quality improvements, on-time delivery, inventory and lead time reductions, and customer focus.
· Ensure that all suppliers are informed of our purchasing terms, packaging requirements, and other related specifications.
· Responsible for vendor Drop ship orders by placing purchase orders and processing shipments to invoice.
Inventory Control:
· Responsible for the accurate monitoring of raw materials inventory, analysis and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies.
· Coordinate inventory related activities, such as cycle counting, receipt, issue, and physical inventories.
· Review ordering levels and manages active, slow moving, and obsolete inventories. Minimize inventory by coordinating the use of materials.
· Follow ISO: 9001-2015 procedures as related to procurement and inventory related activities.
· Initiate and process orders as required to facilitate just-in-time production.
· Review material allocations and press assignments to ensure that efficiencies are realized.
Other:
· Work with the production team for process improvements with materials and dies.
· Review die orders placed by estimating.
· Generate applicable documentation and reports from the ERP system related to procurement and inventory.
· Works with vendors on quality, delivery issues and claims.
· Keep order guides updated for ease of ordering.
· Made changes to jobs as needed and communicate to estimating on required changes.
· Update purchase orders to confirm arrival date to assist scheduling.
· Review jobs for accuracy.
· Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
· High School diploma (or GED) required; Some college coursework or Bachelor’s degree preferred; 2-6 years of related experience and/or training required; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Excellent verbal, phone, and electronic communications skills.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak and communicate well with customers.
· Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
· Computer Skills
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email communications.
Intermediate computer and keyboarding skills.
Additional Preferred Skills and Qualifications
· A technical aptitude and broad understanding of materials, services, and related pricing required to produce Omni Systems products.
· Requires a creative, problem-solving mindset with a sense of urgency and a responsive, customer-minded attitude.
· Ability to represent Omni Systems to a sizable key supplier.
· Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
· Ability to contribute independently as well as in a team environment.
· Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions.
Physical Demands
· Required regularly to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.
· The employee must sometimes lift/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
· Although the Purchasing/Inventory Clerk primarily works in an office environment, there will be times when the employee is required to be on the production floor. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, chemicals, and heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
