What are your responsibilities?
The Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator is responsible for managing procurement activities and controlling inventory to ensure optimal stock levels, timely availability of parts, and accurate data across the organization. This role supports purchasing, parts tracking, and data integrity, collaborating with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. The ideal candidate combines strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and a hands-on approach to inventory control, vendor development, and process improvement in a technically specialized environment.
What will you do?

Manage end-to-end procurement activities for parts and materials required for gas and steam turbine support, with a focus on Alstom and ABB systems.

Source, evaluate, and select suppliers; develop and maintain positive supplier relationships; negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.

Create, issue, and track RFQs, evaluate quotes, and coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams to select optimal purchasing options.

Prepare purchase orders (POs), confirm requisitions, and ensure timely order placement and delivery in line with project and maintenance schedules.

Monitor and manage inventory levels, perform routine cycle counts, and conduct root-cause analysis for variances; implement improvements to achieve accuracy and minimization of stockouts.

Maintain accurate parts data, catalogs, and master data records (e.g., part numbers, descriptions, pricing, lead times) in ERP/CMMS systems.

Support internal audits and QA/QC processes related to procurement and inventory control; implement corrective actions as needed.

Track and process accounts payable activities related to purchasing, ensuring accuracy and on-time payments.

Facilitate internal work order management by providing timely parts availability and accurate shipping/receiving information.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (maintenance, engineering, finance, and operations) to improve procurement processes, workflow efficiency, and data integrity.

Prepare reports on procurement spend, vendor performance, inventory metrics, and part lead times for management review.

Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements relevant to the energy equipment industry.

Requirements:
What do you need to qualify for this role?

High School Diploma required.

Inventory management experience required.

Distribution industry experience, particularly with aftermarket parts.

Proficient in Microsoft office software – MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Knowledge of PDF Editing Software.

Analytical skills with high problem solving and process improvement orientation.

Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational skills; detail oriented.
