Benchmark Woodworks is located in Portsmouth, VA. We are a commercial millwork construction company. We specialize in commercial interior woodworking and multi-family trim, door install, and many other things with over 25 years of experience.
Hours: 7:00 A.M. -3:30 P.M. (Required)
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Materials & Inventory Coordinator to manage purchasing, receiving, inventory control, and invoicing to support project timelines and shop operations. This role requires strong organization, follow-through, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
  • Purchase materials for inventory and active projects.
  • Review project schedules daily to ensure materials are ordered and received before start dates.
  • Track long lead-time items and expedite urgent orders when necessary.
  • Receive, unload, and organize incoming materials
  • Maintain organization and labeling of inventory rooms, job cabinets, laminate racks, solid surface storage, and Conex boxes.
  • Pull shop supplies and stock hardware as needed.
  • Conduct weekly material reviews to identify returnable items and confirm eligibility before disposal.
  • Enter and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy and no duplication.
  • Enter pay applications.
  • Run company errands as needed.
  • File required paperwork in designated systems.
Qualifications
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Experience in purchasing, inventory, or materials coordination preferred
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus
  • Ability to lift and move materials as needed
