Job Summary

Immediate full-time opening for a Purchasing & Inventory Control Manager to oversee our product and supply purchasing, maintain accurate inventory records, and support our manufacturing and retail operations. You are responsible for placing and tracking purchase orders, working directly with vendors, receiving and checking incoming shipments, and ensuring that our inventory levels stay accurate and well-stocked. The position starts at $24/hour plus non-competitive seasonal bonuses that are shared equally by all employees. As a contributor to our design and buying teams, you should be design-oriented and have an interest in home design, decor, and textiles. Company Overview

DeWoolfson Down is a small, specialty manufacturer of European-influenced down comforters, pillows, featherbeds and similar items located in the Boone/Banner Elk area. We ship to customers nationwide and sell online and through our retail store in the High Country, where our products are presented together with fine imported linens. Our purchasing manager is the liaison between our design team, our buying team, and our domestic and foreign suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate computerized inventory records.
  • Enter, track, and receive purchase orders.
  • Create item codes.
  • Generate inventory reports for management as needed.
  • Review stock levels and reorder items when needed.
  • Conduct physical inventory counts and fix any discrepancies.
  • Print labels and barcodes as needed.
  • Work with our buying team for non-basic or seasonal items.
  • Maintain positive relationships with vendors and reps.
  • Receive items into the system and match packing slips with invoices.
  • Track shipments from foreign suppliers and coordinate with customs brokers.
  • Order supplies, packaging materials, and other needed items.

Qualifications

  • Experience in purchasing, inventory, or similar work is helpful.
  • Comfortable learning inventory or purchase order systems.
  • Strong organizational and data-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain relationships with vendors and reps.
  • Ability to analyze inventory reports and project stock needs
  • As a contributor to our design and buying teams, you should be design-oriented and have an interest in home design, decor, and textiles.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
