Job Summary
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing all procurement, inventory, receiving, shipping, and stockroom activities in support of aircraft parts repair operations. This role ensures that all materials are sourced, handled, and tracked in compliance with aviation regulatory standards, and that operational teams are supplied with the parts and components they need in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner. The position includes team leadership responsibilities and plays a key role in maintaining a streamlined and compliant supply chain within the organization.
The Purchasing and Inventory Manager directly supervises a team that includes the Stock Lead, Purchasing Agent, and other support personnel involved in warehouse, logistics, and procurement functions. This leader is expected to guide, support, and hold the team accountable for performance, accuracy, and compliance with company procedures and aviation industry standard
Duties
· Source and purchase aircraft parts, tools, and materials from approved suppliers.
· Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to optimize cost and availability.
· Maintain vendor relationships and regularly assess supplier performance and reliability.
· Ensure that all purchases comply with FAA, EASA, and company standards.
Inventory Management
· Oversee inventory accuracy and availability to support maintenance and repair operations.
· Implement and manage cycle counting and reconciliation processes.
· Ensure proper storage, labeling, and traceability of all parts and consumables.
· Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and reorder points to avoid shortages or
overstock.
Manage the Stock Supervisor with Material Handling (Receiving, Shipping, and Stockroom)
· Manage all incoming and outgoing material flow, including inspection, documentation, and
routing.
· Ensure correct handling and processing of incoming parts with required certifications.
· Supervise packaging, labeling, and dispatch of outgoing materials in compliance with
aviation and shipping regulations.
· Maintain an organized, clean, and secure stockroom that meets safety and regulatory
requirements.
Team Leadership · Lead and supervise purchasing, inventory, receiving, shipping, and stockroom staff. · Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training to team members. · Conduct regular performance evaluations and support professional development. Process and Compliance Management · Develop, implement, and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all supply chain functions. · Ensure strict compliance with internal policies and external aviation regulatory bodies (FAA, EASA, AS9120, ISO 9001). · Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure proper documentation and traceability of all aircraft parts and materials.
