JOB Overview:

Emayam Enterprise's is committed to delivering our products to customers with the utmost efficiency and precision. We are looking for a motivated SCM and Logistics Intern to support our supply chain operations. The right candidate will have a problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to stay organized while managing various aspects of logistics and distribution. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in supply chain management, transportation logistics, and inventory maintenance, all while contributing to the overall success of our operations.

Objectives of this Role:

Ø Identify and source new suppliers and products.

Ø Find alternative suppliers for existing products.

Ø Obtain quotations and negotiate terms with suppliers.

Ø Finalize pricing and issue purchase orders (PO).

Ø Coordinate transportation logistics via road, rail, sea, and air.

Ø Manage compliance with E-Way bills and other government documentation for logistics.

Ø Develop and maintain global logistics partnerships.

Ø Establish and maintain relationships with Customs House Agents (CHA) worldwide.

Ø Oversee the development and maintenance of global warehouses.

Ø Apply knowledge of international logistics, customs, and import/export documentation.

Ø Create invoice bills accurately according to the service provided, company sector, and other relevant details.

Key Responsibilities:

1 Supplier Sourcing and Management:

Ø Identify and source new suppliers and products to enhance the supply chain.

Ø Research and establish alternative suppliers for existing products to ensure supply chain continuity.

2. Quotation and Negotiation:

Ø Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers, negotiating the best terms for pricing, quality, and delivery.

Ø Finalize supplier contracts and issue purchase orders (PO) in line with company policies.

3. Transportation and Logistics Coordination:

Ø Arrange and manage transportation logistics, including road, rail, sea, and air, to ensure timely delivery from suppliers to customers.

Ø Monitor and coordinate global shipments, ensuring smooth and cost-effective transit.

4 Compliance and Documentation:

Ø Prepare and manage E-Way bills, customs documents, and other compliance-related paperwork for the movement of goods.

Ø Ensure adherence to all government regulations and international trade laws during the logistics process.

5 Global Logistics Partnerships:

Ø Develop and maintain strong relationships with logistics partners, including carriers, freight forwarders, and Customs House Agents (CHA) globally.

Ø Oversee the establishment and management of warehouses around the world to support global supply chain operations.

6 International Logistics Management:

Ø Apply in-depth knowledge of international logistics, customs procedures, and import/export documentation to ensure efficient global trade operations.

Ø Stay updated on international trade regulations and ensure the company’s compliance in all logistics activities.

7 Communication and Coordination:

Ø Communicate effectively in English with suppliers, logistics partners, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues.

Ø Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align logistics strategies with business objectives.

  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • High level of organization and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Rigorous attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of distribution and logistics principles.
  • Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software such as Oracle and Sage.
  • Insight into economic conditions and market dynamics affecting supply chain operations.
  • Interest in innovative technologies, including automation software.
  • Ability to negotiate with suppliers and distributors under supervision.
  • Comfort with leading and participating in training sessions.
  • Proficiency in English is mandatory, and fluency in Tamil is preferred.
