PRIMARY PURPOSE
To manage the activities of the purchasing, and inventory control; purchase supplies and materials at the optimal price and delivery cycle while maintaining lowest possible inventory levels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Prepare and process requests for quotations, requisitions and purchase orders for materials, supplies, services and other equipment.
· Negotiate and administrate purchasing contracts.
· Maintain computerized procurement records, such as items and services purchased costs, delivery, product quality or performance and inventories.
· Review defective or unacceptable goods or services with appropriate personnel to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
· Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.
· Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies and procedures.
· Locate vendors of materials, equipment, services or supplies and interview them to determine product availability, service agreements, or terms and conditions of sale.
· Prepare reports on market conditions and merchandise costs.
· Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products, services or substitute materials.
· Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
· Maintain quality and environmental compliance.
· Perform all other duties as assigned.
· Comply with all Aluminum Blanking Employee Conduct and Work Rules; comply with all policies contained in the Employee Handbook.
· Provide input for and track responses to supplier questionnaires and supplier self-assessments
QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL CORE RESPONSIBILTIES AND AUTHORITY
· General QS awareness, communication and emergency preparedness.
· Familiarity with company Quality and Environmental policies and the significant environmental impact of their work activities.
· Participation in preventative actions where appropriate.
· Support company continuous improvement activities.
· Monitor and track notification sent to contractors (EMS)
· Maintain an approved supplier and subcontractor list.
