Multi-funded non-profit located in Manhattan seeks a full-time Purchasing Coordinator.
Reports to: Assistant Controller
Job Description:
- Purchases supplies, services, commodities, and equipment for the company in accordance with company purchasing policies and procedures, including fulfilling the requirement for use of minority vendors.
- Compiles information and records to prepare purchase orders for procurement of supplies, equipment, etc. for multiple programs/locations for the company.
- Consults catalogs and contacts suppliers to obtain prices and specifications.
- Prepares purchase order and gets proper administrative and fiscal approvals.
- Sends copy to supplier and department originating request.
- Compiles records of items purchased or transferred between departments, prices, deliveries, and inventories.
- Computes total cost of items purchased.
- Confers with suppliers concerning late deliveries.
- Responsible for placing orders with suppliers.
- Verifies bills from suppliers with bids and purchase orders, attaches packing slip and approves bills for payment.
- Submits to the fiscal department for payment. Maintains equipment leases.
Essential Duties:
Reviews purchase requests according to approved specifications.
Prepares bids and selects vendors according to policies and procedures set up forpurchasing operations.
Coordinate delivery of goods with supplier and Program Director.
Review delivery slips for payment.
Qualifications
Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships withvendors and outside representatives as well as Program Directors.
Ability to prepare and interpret specifications, analyze bids, and prepare andmaintain procurement records and reports is essential.
Computer literate with knowledge of Excel.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
