PMCO is hiring a Purchasing Manager in the Manufacturing industry near Long Island, NY!

Salary: $95,000 – $120,000/year (depending on experience)

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead sourcing and procurement activities for a precision manufacturing operation supporting aerospace and defense markets. This role is responsible for developing supplier relationships, managing contracts, and ensuring cost-effective, high-quality material flow to support production goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute purchasing strategies for raw materials, components, tooling, and consumables
• Source and negotiate supplier contracts (domestic and international) to ensure quality, pricing, and delivery requirements are met
• Partner with production, engineering, and quality teams to forecast material needs and maintain inventory levels
• Manage preferred supplier lists, oversee audits, and ensure compliance with ISO/AS9100 procurement standards
• Track and report purchasing metrics, including cost savings and on-time delivery performance
• Collaborate with finance on budgeting, purchase orders, and cost-control initiatives
• Lead and develop a small purchasing team and drive process automation and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of purchasing or sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong negotiation skills, ERP experience, and knowledge of ISO/AS9100 standards
• Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills
