Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement activities within our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing sourcing, supplier relationships, and procurement processes to ensure the timely acquisition of quality materials and services. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management, inventory control, and contract negotiation to optimize costs and operational efficiency. The Purchasing Manager will play a vital role in supporting manufacturing operations and maintaining seamless supply chain workflows.

Duties

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals, utilizing ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS.
  • Manage sourcing activities, including supplier selection, evaluation, and onboarding to ensure reliable supply chain operations.
  • Oversee purchase orders, contracts, and negotiations to secure favorable pricing, terms, and conditions with vendors.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing teams to forecast material requirements using MRP systems and ensure inventory levels are maintained appropriately.
  • Monitor supplier performance, conduct regular vendor management reviews, and address any supply disruptions or quality issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with logistics teams to optimize transportation, delivery schedules, and inventory management for cost-effective operations.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contractual obligations, and industry regulations related to supply chain management.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, analyze market trends, and identify new sourcing opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Skills

  • Proven experience in procurement management within manufacturing or supply chain environments.
  • Strong proficiency in ERP systems such as Global Shop for procurement activities.
  • Expertise in sourcing strategies, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
  • Knowledge of MRP systems for production planning and inventory control.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to establish mutually beneficial supplier relationships.
  • Familiarity with supply chain management principles including logistics, inventory management, and contract management.
  • Ability to analyze pricing models and develop effective procurement strategies that support manufacturing needs.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration across departments such as manufacturing, logistics, and finance. Required Education and Experience

1. Associates Degree in business and/or 3 plus years of related experience.

2. Three years of negotiations experience.

3. Strong verbal and written communication skills, plus analytical, organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

4. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

5. Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
