The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of materials, equipment, and services necessary for operations. This role requires a proactive leader who can build strong supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and drive cost savings while maintaining quality and reliability.

You’ll work cross-functionally with internal teams and external vendors to ensure purchasing aligns with company goals, timelines, and budget.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies that support business objectives and optimize cost, quality, and delivery.

  • Manage vendor relationships, including sourcing, negotiation, performance evaluation, and compliance.

  • Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.

  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and finance teams to forecast demand and ensure timely procurement of materials.

  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with logistics to maintain optimal stock levels.

  • Lead contract negotiations and ensure adherence to company policies and legal requirements.

  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other relevant data.

  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.

  • Support sustainability and ethical sourcing initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Experience with international sourcing and logistics is a plus.

  • Certification in supply chain or procurement (e.g., CPSM, CPM) is an asset.
