Overview
Carpets N More isseeking an experienced and strategic Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement activities within our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing sourcing, supplier relationships, and procurement processes to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management, contract negotiation, and ERP systems to optimize purchasing operations and support manufacturing and inventory management objectives.
Duties
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals, focusing on cost savings and quality improvements.
- Source suppliers, evaluate vendor performance, and establish strong supplier relationships to ensure reliable supply chain operations.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors to secure favorable agreements while maintaining quality standards.
- Oversee inventory management, including inventory control, supply chain coordination, and logistics planning.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to forecast needs based on MRP systems and production schedules.
- Monitor procurement KPIs, analyze market trends, and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal standards, and industry regulations related to procurement activities.
- Lead contract management efforts, including drafting, reviewing, and renewing supplier agreements.
- Manage vendor performance evaluations and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Skills
- Proven experience in procurement management within manufacturing or supply chain environments.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS for procurement and inventory management.
- Expertise in sourcing, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
- Familiarity with MRP systems, logistics coordination, and supply chain optimization strategies.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure advantageous terms while maintaining supplier relationships.
- Ability to analyze pricing models, manage contracts effectively, and oversee inventory control processes.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management principles including logistics, vendor management, and inventory management.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration across departments.
