We’re looking for a hands-on Purchasing Manager who thrives in an agile environment and enjoys turning ideas into results. This is a role for someone driven, proactive, and energized by making things happen.
The Opportunity
The Purchasing Manager leads the sourcing and procurement of materials, equipment, and services that keep projects moving forward. This is a highly hands-on role combining strategic thinking with day-to-day execution.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations, this position works closely with Engineering to support product development, production, and project delivery. You will collaborate across Operations, Finance, Engineering, and Sales to ensure the right materials arrive at the right time and cost while continuously improving how we work.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic sourcing and supplier management
- Source materials, components, and services that support projects and production
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to strengthen our vendor network
- Request and compare quotes, negotiate pricing and terms, and secure reliable delivery timelines
- Build strong supplier partnerships and hold vendors accountable for quality, cost, and performance
- Anticipate supply risks and proactively identify alternative options when needed
Cross-functional collaboration
- Partner closely with Engineering to support new products, materials, and design changes
- Contribute to sourcing for product development and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with Operations, Finance, and Sales to align purchasing with project timelines and priorities
Operational execution
- Manage the full purchasing cycle from requisition through delivery and receipt
- Forecast and manage inventory to ensure appropriate stock levels of standard items are maintained
- Maintain accurate purchasing data, documentation, and reporting within the ERP system
- Continuously look for opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency
- Help prevent delays by identifying risks and resolving supply challenges early
Financial stewardship
- Monitor purchasing spend and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Track key purchasing metrics and provide regular reporting
- Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and cost control

Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain
- Proven track record of being hands-on, proactive, and results-driven
- Strong negotiation and supplier management experience
- Comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Experience in fast-moving or growth environments is an asset
- Broader operational experience (operations, logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain) is a strong asset
Systems
- ERP experience required
- NetSuite experience is a major asset
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field
- Supply chain certification (CPM, CPIM, CPSM) is an asset
- A technical background or experience working with engineering-driven products is a strong asset
