Position Summary
We are seeking a strategic, results-driven Purchasing Manager to oversee our procurement department. In this role, you will be responsible for leading our procurement strategy, managing vital vendor relationships, and optimizing our end-to-end supply chain to balance cost with exceptional quality. The ideal candidate possesses strong contract negotiation skills, a data-driven approach to forecasting, and a natural ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Strategy: Develop, implement, and maintain cost-effective sourcing strategies aligned with broader company goals.
- Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard high-quality suppliers while conducting regular performance audits and quarterly business reviews.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations for vendor pricing, favorable payment terms, and service-level agreements to maximize profit margins.
- Inventory & Demand Planning: Coordinate with manufacturing, sales, and warehouse teams to monitor inventory levels, forecast future supply needs, and minimize supply chain risks.
- Financial Oversight: Oversee budget planning, approve purchase orders, track expenditures, and actively identify cost-reduction opportunities.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and foster the professional growth of the internal purchasing and administrative staff.
- Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, environmental guidelines, and relevant state or federal regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and experience with major ERP or inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Soft Skills: Outstanding communication, networking, and conflict-resolution skills, alongside sharp problem-solving capabilities.
