Role Description

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading and managing all procurement activities, ensuring the timely availability of high-quality marine materials, equipment, and services required for yacht construction and marine manufacturing operations.

The role requires an engineering background and deep technical understanding of marine components to support production efficiency, cost control, and high-standard manufacturing quality.

The Purchasing Manager will work closely with Engineering, Production, Cost Estimation, Design, and Finance teams, and will be directly involved in evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, developing procurement strategies, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with marine industry standards.

Role Responsibility

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with production and project needs.

• Manage the full purchasing cycle: RFQs, quotations, POs, contracts, delivery follow-up.

• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships within the marine and yacht manufacturing sector.

• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Stores, Production, and Engineering.

• Ensure all materials meet required marine standards (quality, specification, compliance).

• Support the Cost Estimation team with accurate pricing and market rates.

• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

• Maintain procurement records, reports, and supplier evaluations.

• Ensure compliance with internal policies and UAE regulations.

• Lead the Procurement Department and manage a team of purchasing and supply professionals.

• Develop long-term procurement strategies ensuring alignment with production, engineering, and company goals.

• Create annual purchasing budgets and ensure full cost control across all procurement activities.

• Establish sourcing strategies to improve pricing, quality, and supplier reliability.

• Support management in project costing, financial planning, and vendor selection strategies.

• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Stores to avoid shortages or excess stock.

• Identify cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or production deadlines.
