Purchasing Manager - Springfield, VA

Virginia Imports is the largest, independent wine distributor in Virginia. Our company offers a family culture, work – life balance and values each of its employees and their development both personally and professionally. Position is an in office (not remote) position located in Springfield, VA.

Our purchasing manager will have the autonomy to oversee all aspects of purchasing more than 2,000 items and inventory management. Salary is $70,000 + depending on experience. We offer medical benefits, paid vacation, 401 K and profit sharing.

Purchasing Manager Job Responsibilities:

• Develops a purchasing strategy that aligns with company goals.
• Reviews and processes purchase orders from creation to receiving.
• Maintains & follows up on records of goods ordered and received.
• Builds and maintains relationships with vendors.
• Coordinate with suppliers and consolidators to ensures timely fulfillment of orders.
• Coordinates with fellow managers to monitor inventory and determine supply needs.
• Working through discrepancies of what was ordered vs received.
• Use in house purchase ordering system, evaluating and recommending items to be purchased.
• Sets up and maintains items in our ERP system.
• Manages high volume of emails from suppliers, consolidators for all purchasing aspects.
• Stays current with purchasing technology trends and oversees purchase and implementation, as necessary.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
