Contour Windows is seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent/Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement of raw materials and overseeing inventory control to ensure our plant operates efficiently and effectively. This role requires a strong understanding of procurement systems, market trends, and supplier relationships to optimize costs while maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Purchase raw materials, tools, parts, and supplies to support production requirements.
  • Manage all aspects of vendor relationships, including lead times, pricing, delivery schedules, releases, shortages, problem resolution, and overall performance.
  • Review, issue, and execute purchase orders.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure on-time delivery; expedite orders when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate part/vendor setups within the MRP Planning System to support PO execution.
  • Keep procurement records, including purchases, costs, delivery schedules, product quality/performance, and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to address and resolve issues with defective or unacceptable materials, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers that align with company criteria for capability, financial stability, delivery performance, and strategic fit.
  • Maintain an approved supplier list based on company objectives and standards.
  • Ensure all required certificates and compliance documents are up to date for outsourced materials.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications:

  • 2–4 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, drawings, and governmental regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and respond effectively to managers, vendors, customers, and peers.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages, and apply basic algebraic concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Hands-on experience using an MRP system for planning and purchasing.
  • Excellent judgment, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
