Job Summary

The Rancho Foods (Protein) Buyer is responsible for the entirety of the purchasing life-cycle of their respective protein; Emphasizing customer service functions by maintaining proper inventory levels and managing the growth of their respective protein to cultivate sales.

Essential Functions

  • Negotiate quantities and pricing of incoming respective proteins
  • Data entry – processing purchase orders accurately in inventory management system
  • Answer salesperson/customer questions regarding product specifications (dates, pricing, availability)
  • Provide new sales staff with updated price sheet(s) weekly, or as frequently as needed
  • Maintain and process booking sheets for chain accounts
  • Communicate with Purchasing department and fill out correct paperwork regarding special orders
  • Attend customer meetings & visits to improve service, grow business, and strengthen customer relationships
  • Facilitate brand-specific trainings (Certified Angus Beef)
  • Attend weekly sales meetings

Job Qualifications

Minimum of six years’ experience in Customer Service required (food service industry preferred)

Minimum of four years' experience in Purchasing required (food service industry preferred)

Ability to speak Spanish preferred

High School diploma or equivalent preferred

Compensation & Benefits

Pay range $90,000 - $140,000 annually **Depending on experience
