Purchasing Receiver

Summary

  • The Receiver assists the Purchasing Manager and/or Warehouse Supervisor in the day-to-day operations of the warehouse. The Receiver is responsible for documenting and checking vendor deliveries against purchase orders for accuracy and quality, unloading inventory from the vendor’s trucks, stocking inventory in the warehouse, facing & storing products on a FIFO/expiration basis, delivering products to departments upon requisition and assisting at the end of the month and quarterly spot check, cycle count and physical inventories. The Receiver is also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the warehouse.

Responsibilities

  • Documenting and checking in vendor deliveries, comparing receiving worksheets to purchase orders and shipping documents for accuracy (unit count & cost) and quality (freshness & expiration dates), recording exceptions and working with, Buyers on credits and/or vendor returns, unloading inventory from vendor’s trucks and inputting information into Stratton Warren system.
  • Stocking inventory in designated locations on shelves in the warehouse, storage areas, cooler or freezer, facing & storing inventory on a FIFO/expiration basis, and rotating product, if necessary. Responsible for cleaning and organizing the warehouse including, but not limited to, breaking down and recycling cardboard boxes in the baler, sweeping/mopping the floors of the warehouse and the cooler, and keeping pathways clear for the forklift.
  • Pulling requisitioned stock from shelves, recording inventory transfer information in the system, delivering inventory items to the Casino or Administration offices, and obtaining signed proof of delivery from Casino employees. Assist in End of Month and Quarterly spot checks, cycle count, and physical inventories.

Applicants who are hired and fail to meet the agreed upon formal training program, will be discharged upon failure to complete the specified training as so scheduled.

Requirements:

Qualifications/Education/Experience

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in a related area: shipping & receiving, purchasing, warehouse, inventory, or stocking merchandise.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification.
  • Proficient in English (Spanish is a plus).
  • Basic math skills (addition/counting).
  • Good multitasking and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines and deliverables.
  • Knowledge of basic computer and office skills, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Willingness to be trained in Stratton Warren and use in-house Excel templates.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings for monthly inventories, weekends, and holidays.
