Purchasing Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring that all purchasing activities align with company goals and budgetary constraints. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory control, vendor management, and supply chain logistics, along with excellent negotiation skills.

Duties

• Work closely with Account Manager on key accounts.
• Handle the daily needs of the companies key accounts.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors to secure favorable terms and pricing.
• Monitor vendor performance and maintain strong relationships to ensure quality service delivery.
• Collaborate with various departments to understand their purchasing needs and develop procurement strategies accordingly.
• Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to forecast demand and streamline purchasing processes.
• Assist and build new accounts through marketing research and purchasing products.
• Learn the recycling products that the company handles on a daily basis.
• Maintain accurate records of contracts, purchase orders, and inventory levels for reporting purposes.

Requirements

• Proven experience in purchasing or procurement management within a relevant industry.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control practices and logistics operations.
• Familiarity with contract management and negotiation techniques.
• 1 year experience with inside sales support, customer service, and marketing research.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess data for informed decision-making.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with vendors and internal teams.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledgeable in the recycling industry particularly in E-waste is a plus but not required.
• Associates degree in marketing and or business management.
• 5% travel will be required
