JOB DETAILS:

Schedule Standard work schedule to be provided by leader.
Salary Range $26.27 - $31.18 Per Hour

JOB SUMMARY:
The Purchasing Specialist role will serve as the central purchasing contact for all locations. The role will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing the necessary goods and services for all designated departments. Key duties include researching vendors, managing supplier relationships, and collaborating with internal teams to align purchasing with business objectives and meet strategic goals. This is a hybrid position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Create and coordinate purchasing orders for equipment and services.
  • Identify best vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on budget and schedule requirements.
  • Maintain and identify process improvements of purchasing information systems.
  • Interpret and enforce purchasing policies and preferred vendor lists.
  • Identify the best product delivery terms to be negotiated for a specific product.
  • Purchase competitively priced components and parts as requested by internal clients.
  • Research products, prepare purchase orders, select vendors and place orders.
  • Organize product information and track back orders.
  • Obtain materials from suppliers at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need.
  • Review quotations received, select or recommend suppliers, and schedules deliveries.
  • Develop and maintain necessary records and files for efficient operation.
  • Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures and standards.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage special projects or other duties assigned by Procurement Supervisor.
  • Maintain and update vendor listing.
  • Assist with vendor price negotiations.
  • Assist with the coordination of split deliveries for large purchase orders.
  • Develop, document and communicate purchasing procedures.
  • Look for opportunities to improve purchasing procedures and make recommendations to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work within and promote corporate values.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong computer skills to navigate and maintain business systems.
  • Must have sufficient interpersonal skills to assist internal clients and vendors in a positive and professional manner.
  • Must have sufficient interpersonal skills to communicate verbally and in writing with others in an objective and cooperative manner.
  • Ability to manage various tasks simultaneously and competing priorities while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Must be familiar with procurement and accounting procedures.
  • Must have acceptable attendance to meet all company standards and requirements.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Associate’s degree in business related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years purchasing experience.
  • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
