MakingCosmetics, located in Redmond Ridge is a growing small business with ambitious goals, we value initiative, teamwork, and a dedication to quality. We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to support our operations through effective purchasing, vendor negotiations, and material management. This role is responsible from end-to-end procurement lifecycle, from sourcing and vendor selection to purchase order execution and delivery verification. Ensuring that all materials and services are procured in alignment with MakingCosmetics goals and timelines.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, demonstrates exceptional negotiation skills, and is comfortable working across multiple departments to anticipate needs, resolve challenges, and maintain consistent supply of cosmetics ingredients. This position requires balancing day-to-day purchasing responsibilities with strategic oversight of supplier performance, cost analysis, and market trends.

We provide great benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life) and pay 72% towards the premium for medical and 100% of premium for Dental & Vision with a 25K paid life insurance plan to employee. Our business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 4:30 with a paid 30-minute lunch. We pay employees on a monthly basis (end of the month).

  • Purchasing: Responsible for all aspects of purchasing; sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers and vendors, collect purchase orders and purchase requisitions to order cosmetic raw materials, chemicals, goods and supplies. Periodically assess inventories and compare with market activity; may recommend adjustment of the procurement plan to top management.

Review inventories electronically and manually, and review orders as required and interact with the suppliers.
Maintain records of approved suppliers and periodically evaluates vendor performance (e.g., conformance with stated requirements, trends, anomalies). Identifies potential vendors / suppliers, gathers and analyzes information on them; recommends prospective vendors to top management. Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms, such as cost, freight and lead times.

  • Work with ERP system to track inventory, update supplier information, make changes and supply of goods
  • Runs statistics/reports for Purchasing & Inventory in order to improve efficiency/output/quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze data, sales orders and recognize past and future buying trends for purchasing of goods
  • Logistics: Schedule and monitor all incoming and outgoing freight shipments.
  • Align with AP

Additional Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Meets with Vendors & Manufacturers to discuss supply changes/issues.
  • Assist with Audits
  • Assist with physical inventory
  • Comply with all company procedures, policies, rules & regulations

Minimum Job Requirements:

· 2+ years of Purchasing/Inventory & Logistics experience

· NetSuite, Salesforce, Ship station experiences a plus!

· Experience with Excel/Spreadsheest/Data.

· Capable of meeting deadlines/team player and the ability to communicate effectively

· Dependable & Flexible

· Excellent organizational and time management skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $31.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
