Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring that purchasing activities align with organizational goals. The Purchasing Supervisor will play a crucial role in optimizing our purchasing strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Duties
- Lead and manage the purchasing team to ensure effective procurement practices.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company objectives.
- Oversee sourcing activities for materials and services, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage supplier relationships, including vendor management and performance evaluations.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with inventory management to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Utilize ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle EBS for procurement processes and data analysis.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to understand material requirements and production schedules.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess industry trends.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all purchasing activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in procurement management or supply chain roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle EBS) and MRP principles.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract negotiations.
- Proficient in inventory management practices and logistics coordination.
- Familiarity with sourcing strategies, vendor management, pricing analysis, technical experience and contract management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
