Job Title: Purchasing Team Lead

Duties and Tasks:

  • Build and maintain a strong Purchasing Team by

Hiring new team members

Training new hires

Implementing and monitoring that new procedures are being followed

Monitor team workload and support team members in their daily tasks

Maintain comprehensive overview of all critical timeline projects to assist

Head of Supply chain - in prioritizing resources for execution and delivery

  • Support team members during vendor conversations if necessary
  • Follow and develop KPI goals and help team members achieve team and company goals
  • Conduct performance reviews and assist in development plans for team members
  • Generate and maintain various reports on specific business objectives
  • Travel as needed to vendor sites
  • Create and implement SOP’s and workflows
  • Assist in preparation and monitoring of annual budget (travel, training, and equipment) for team
  • Develop a strategic vendor base and manage supplier relationships
  • Distribute purchasing information to involved parties including vendors, sales representatives and employees
  • Ensure the team gathers, records and completes purchase data
  • Negotiate contracts and long-term agreements with key suppliers
  • Collaborate cross-functionally
  • Support the company’s strategy and values

Minimum Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in relevant field
  • This position is onsite full time, willing to work overtime hours
  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing or related field required
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience required
  • Available to travel domestic and international (10 – 25%)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and ERP systems, intermediate proficiency with Excel
  • Experience in strategic vendor management and supplier relationships
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, knowledge of important purchasing KPI’s and other relevant data
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to read, interpret, and explain policies and procedures used in purchasing

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
