Assignment Overview:
We are seeking a Python Data Engineer with expertise in CMS healthcare datasets (MOR, MMR, MAO) and knowledge of HIPAA compliance. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable ETL pipelines, data warehousing, and workflow orchestration in a cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain ETL pipelines using Python and GCP Dataflow for CMS datasets.
• Architect and optimize data warehouses in BigQuery for scalability and cost efficiency.
• Implement Airflow DAGs for orchestrating complex workflows.
• Ensure data quality, validation, lineage, and governance aligned with CMS and HIPAA standards.
• Optimize large datasets via partitioning, clustering, sharding, and query optimization.
• Collaborate in Agile teams using Jira and Confluence.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines for operational excellence.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 7+ years in cloud-based data engineering, preferably with healthcare datasets.
• Experience in a start-up environment.
• Expertise with GCP Dataflow, BigQuery, Python, Airflow.
• Strong knowledge of data warehouse concepts (star/snowflake schema, normalization).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Jira, Confluence, and cloud-native best practices.
• Knowledge of CMS datasets (MOR, MMR, MAO) and HIPAA compliance.
• Self-motivated, proactive, excellent communicator, and able to thrive with minimal supervision.
