QA Assistant

OVERVIEW

The Quality Assurance (QA) Assistant will assist the QA Manager in the management of the Quality Management Program at Vita Warehouse to ensure the quality and safety of packaged and labeled dietary supplements in compliance with the applicable regulatory requirements.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

a. Ensures compliance with regulatory, corporate and customer requirements as they apply to the packaging, labeling and distribution of dietary supplements.

b. Enforces compliance with the good manufacturing practices (GMPs) by all employees from receipt of bulk dietary supplements to shipping of packaged and labeled finished products.

c. Oversees the in-process testing program through all stages of the packaging operations.

d. Assist in reviewing and approving the Batch Packaging Record for every lot of dietary supplements shipped from the Vita Warehouse Plant.

e. Review and maintenance of all log books of the packaging operations overall.

f. Verify the correct use of product, packaging components, and the label with Batch Packaging Record.

g. Assist with the review and approval of line clearance activities prior to set-up.

h. Monitor in-process quality checks (weights, torque, seals, labels, lot codes, OEE quality checks, etc.).

i. Conduct routine line audits to verify adherence to procedures and identify improvement opportunities.

j. Assist daily operations of the Quality Assurance department, setting and communicating priorities to staff.

k. Experience with 3rd party lab test analysis and reports for finished product for final release.

l. Assists with the release of packaging components, labels, and product.

m. Assists in the implementation of corrective and preventive measures for audit findings.

n. Assists in the handling of customer complaints.

REQUIRED SKILLS

a. Good knowledge of the applicable sections of the dietary supplement good manufacturing practices regulation, and of the applicable standard operating procedures.

b. Ability to effectively supervise employees as required.

c. Excellent organizational and administrative skills.

d. Good written and verbal communication skills.

a. Able to read and write English.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

a. High School Diploma or equivalence.

b. One year of experience in the dietary supplement industry or related field.

Pay: $18.50 - $20.00 per hour
