We are seeking a QA Engineer to ensure quality, stability, and business continuity during our on-prem to AWS Lift-and-Shift migration program. The QA Engineer will be responsible for validating migrated applications, data integrity, performance benchmarks, and end-to-end business workflows in the cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities
Test Planning & Strategy
Develop QA strategy and test plans specific to cloud migration.
Define test cases for functional, integration, regression, performance, and security testing.
Work with Cloud Architect, Cloud Lead, and DevOps teams to align test coverage with migration waves.
Functional & Regression Testing
Validate application functionality before and after migration.
Ensure no business workflows are broken during migration.
Perform regression testing across backend, frontend, and APIs.
Data Validation & Database Testing
Validate data integrity post-migration (row counts, schema verification, referential integrity).
Run SQL queries and automated checks to ensure migration accuracy.
Test stored procedures, jobs, and triggers in SQL Server (migrated DBs).
Performance & Security Testing
Conduct performance benchmarks pre- and post-migration (latency, throughput, scaling).
Validate AWS cloud configurations for compliance and security policies.
Work with DevOps to automate load/performance tests in cloud environments.
Automation & Tools
Build/maintain automated test suites for regression and integration.
Implement testing in CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline).
Use tools like Selenium, Cypress, JUnit/TestNG, Postman/Newman for test automation.
Collaboration & Reporting
Work closely with developers, DB engineers, and cloud teams to resolve defects quickly.
Provide test execution reports, defect logs, and risk assessments to stakeholders.
Participate in go-live readiness reviews for each migration wave.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelors in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Experience:
5-7 years of software testing/QA experience.
2-3 years testing cloud-hosted applications (AWS preferred).
Experience in testing full stack apps (Java + React) and SQL Server DBs.
Technical Skills:
Strong in test automation (Selenium, Cypress, JUnit/TestNG).
API testing (Postman, REST Assured).
SQL skills for DB validation.
Performance testing tools (JMeter, Locust, Gatling).
Familiarity with AWS services (RDS, EC2, S3, CloudWatch).
Certifications (Preferred):
ISTQB Certified Tester.
AWS Cloud Practitioner or QA-focused cloud certification.
