Duties

• Review and audit medical records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HIPAA regulations and industry standards
• Evaluate patient care documentation for adherence to established protocols and best practices in hospice care
• Collaborate with nursing staff to identify areas for quality improvement and implement corrective actions as needed
• Monitor clinical workflows to verify proper use of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology principles in patient assessments
• Conduct regular audits of medical records to ensure proper documentation of patient progress, medication administration, and symptom management
• Educate staff on documentation standards, privacy regulations, and best practices for maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA
• Assist in the development and review of policies related to medical records management and clinical procedures

Experience

• Proven experience in nursing with a strong background in hospice or palliative care settings
• Comprehensive knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to end-of-life care
• Prior experience with medical documentation, record keeping, and compliance auditing within healthcare environments
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and best practices for safeguarding patient information
• Strong understanding of patient care principles combined with meticulous attention to detail in record review processes
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and provide clear guidance on documentation standards

Pay: $75,395.16 - $90,798.48 per year
