QA Instrumentation Technician - RJR

Job Summary:

Responsible for all repairs, calibrations, and corrective / preventive maintenance to electrical / electronic and mechanical test and measurement equipment essential to an industrial production environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform procedures and work assignments in keeping with customers and Cross policy, safety and Good Manufacturing Practice standards
  • Install, test, calibrate, and repair complex electronic and mechanical test and measurement equipment in a timely manner
  • Coordinate and perform Instrument preventative maintenance
  • Document repair and maintenance activity of equipment in the Cross database applications
  • Be knowledgeable of the methods, practices and procedures for repair and calibration being performed
  • Work from various vendor provided schematics
  • Use electronic diagnostic equipment common to the discipline
  • Document non-conformances and identify equipment trends
  • Service as a back-up for other technicians
  • Train and mentor less experienced techs in resolution of hardware and software issues
  • Keep in good order all tools and equipment, practice good housekeeping
  • Maintain a safety and customer service mindset at all times
  • Will perform other duties as assigned by the Service Manager


Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • A.A.S. in Electronics Engineering Technology, Instrumentation, or Control Automation, or military equivalent preferred
  • Three years’ electronics experience with electrical/electronic controls/instruments manufacturing equipment or process control systems
  • Must be familiar with calibration and operation of pH meters, conductivity meters and gas analyzers.
  • Must have the ability to troubleshoot and work in 120 volt circuits without supervision.
  • Must be computer proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Must have a strong understanding of computer system peripherals and communication configurations
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service
  • Must demonstrate self motivation, initiative, honesty, integrity, and attention to detail

Physical Demands of the Position:
Stands greater than four hours at a time
Stoops and bends below knee level 2 – 4 times an hour
Regularly lifts and carries 50lbs
Climbs stairs more than four times in an eight hour shift
