Job Title: Data Migration - Lead

Job Purpose:

Data Specialist to lead and manage core banking data migration project. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, strategizing, executing, and overseeing the migration of critical banking data from legacy systems to modern core banking platforms, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with banking regulations. This role requires a deep understanding of core banking solutions, data architecture, and the challenges of banking data migration.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Lead Data Migration Projects: Oversee the end-to-end data migration process, including scoping, planning, execution, testing, and implementation. Data Mapping and Transformation: Review the accuracy of data mapping from legacy systems to Finacle core banking systems and recommend solutions(functional/technical) on the issues identified. Data Quality Assurance: Lead data validation and reconciliation efforts post-migration to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the migrated data. Stakeholder Management: Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to understand data migration requirements and manage expectations. Testing and Troubleshooting: Plan and execute data migration testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and UAT. Documentation and Compliance: Document data migration processes & strategy, methodologies, and ensure compliance with regulations. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with data migration activities. Team Leadership and Mentoring: Lead and mentor team members involved in data migration activities. To manage, schedule and review evaluation activities to continuously enhance the processes and procedures in area of responsibility to reduce incidents and help mitigate risks, through increased consistency in task execution. To manage, schedule, review and provide the required support to ongoing projects and assist the successful completion of allocated tasks within the specified timelines. To provide support for all other Management requirements as required. Independence of Operation:

Education:


    Bachelor//'s or Master//'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Professional / Technical Qualifications / Diplomas:

    Desired – ITIL Certification. Desired – Financial and accounting relevant certification. Desired – Governance certification. Desired – Project Management knowledge.
Experience:

    More than 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least experience in 3 core banking data migration on Finacle.
  • In-depth understanding of core banking platforms (e.g., Silverlake , Finacle(Mandatory).) and their data structures.
  • Proven track record of leading successful data migration projects within banking/financial institutions 8 years of experience, with at least 2 years of experience in relevant position.
Other Skills Required for the Job:

    Strong knowledge of data migration methodologies and tools (SQL is mandatory) Strong functional knowledge on Core Banking Modules such as Assets, Liabilities, Trade Finance and GL//'s. Excellent organizational, prioritization, and follow-through skills. Attention to detail. Excellent stakeholder management and communications skills. Proactive in identifying and addressing issues. Ability to take initiative and meet deadlines and proven leadership skills
