The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Director of Network Services, this role offers a unique opportunity to join a high-performing, collaborative team during a pivotal stage of our growth. As an integral member of the Network Services department, you will gain hands-on experience and play a key role in the continued expansion of GRC’s infrastructure and service footprint.

The Role: Utility Locating & Quality Control

We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to manage Utility Locating and Quality Control (QC) operations. This position is critical to ensuring the safety, accuracy, and integrity of our physical network.

Responsibilities

• 
  Ensure safe and quality construction practices are being met by our internal and subcontract crews.
• You will be in the field working 90% of your day.
• Field verifies all construction progress as the work is completed.
• Field verification entails using a utility locator to identify depth and offsets of all newly placed conduits, vaults, etc.
• Collect pictures, bore logs, and other data from crews to support customer Quality Control requirements.
• Learn and apply all quality metrics to ongoing and completed work to ensure that finished construction products meet customer, municipality, and environmental specifications and requirements.
• Some night and after-hours work depending on emergency locates and project needs.

Required Qualifications

• 
  Experience with locating systems.
• Strong computer skills.
• Experience in data management.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. The terrain is hilly, winding, and uneven.
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  Strong data entry skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Process and documentation orientation, with a focus on continuous improvement
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Experience with Google Suite and other data entry software.
• Understanding basic utility construction processes and terminology is a plus.

Additional Information

Hourly Range: $25 - $30 hourly, based on experience

Exempt/Non-Exempt Status:

This position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is eligible for overtime compensation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Work Location Model: Onsite

Travel Requirements: 75% of expected travel
