Job Description – QA/QC Engineer (Interior Fit-Out)

Position: QA/QC Engineer
Department: Projects / Quality Assurance & Quality Control
Location: Dubai, UAE
Reporting To: QA/QC Manager / Project Manager

Job Summary

The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all interior fit-out works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, client requirements, and relevant UAE regulations. The role involves conducting inspections, monitoring workmanship, maintaining quality records, and ensuring successful project handover.

Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Assurance & Quality Control

• Implement and maintain project-specific QA/QC procedures, quality plans, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Ensure compliance with approved shop drawings, material submittals, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Monitor all interior fit-out activities including joinery, gypsum works, ceilings, flooring, wall finishes, painting, glazing, and MEP coordination works.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits throughout the project lifecycle.
• Verify materials delivered to site and ensure compliance with approved samples and specifications.

Inspection & Documentation

• Prepare and submit Inspection Requests (IRs), Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), checklists, and quality reports.
• Maintain quality records, test certificates, inspection reports, and handover documentation.
• Review method statements and ensure work execution follows approved procedures.
• Monitor closure of consultant comments and inspection observations.

Coordination

• Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Consultants, Clients, and Subcontractors on quality-related matters.
• Attend project meetings and provide quality updates.
• Support project teams in achieving quality objectives and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Minimum 4–5 years of QA/QC experience in Interior Fit-Out projects within the UAE.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
• Familiarity with Dubai Municipality, DCD, and other relevant authority requirements.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of interior fit-out materials, finishes, and installation standards.
• Experience in joinery, gypsum, flooring, painting, ceiling, glazing, and MEP coordination.
• Excellent inspection, reporting, and documentation skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
