Job Description: QA/QC Inspector – High-Rise Building
Job Purpose
The QA/QC Inspector is a site-based role focused on the physical inspection of ongoing construction works. The inspector ensures that daily on-site activities—spanning structural, architectural, and finishing stages—strictly adhere to the approved drawings, Method Statements, and ITPs.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Inspections: Conduct daily inspections of structural elements (reinforcement, formwork, post-tensioning, concrete pouring) and architectural/finishing elements (blockwork, plaster, waterproofing, facade cladding).
- WIR Management: Raise Work Inspection Requests (WIR) and coordinate with the Consultant’s inspectors for joint site inspections.
- Material Inspection: Verify that all materials delivered to the site match the approved material submittals and are stored according to manufacturer guidelines to prevent deterioration.
- Surveillance & Defect Identification: Identify site defects or deviations from approved drawings. Issue internal site clarifications or recommend NCRs to the QA/QC Engineer when necessary.
- Testing Oversight: Witness on-site testing such as concrete slump tests, cube sampling, rebar pull-out tests, and waterproofing flood tests.
- As-Built Verification: Ensure that the workmanship matches the latest IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings and note any field changes.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 4–6 years of experience as a Site Inspector, with a proven track record on high-rise commercial/residential towers in Dubai.
- Certifications: Relevant inspection certifications (e.g., concrete technology, waterproofing inspection) are advantageous.
- Skills: Sharp eye for detail, strong communication skills to handle on-site subcontractors, and full literacy in reading complex structural and architectural architectural blueprints.
