QC Inpector

Position Summary

The QC Inspector is responsible for inspecting raw materials, in-process production, and finished cables to ensure compliance with company standards, customer specifications, and international standards. The role ensures that only conforming products are released for dispatch.

Key Responsibilities1. Incoming Material Inspection

• Inspect and verify raw materials such as conductors, insulation compounds, armouring materials, and sheathing materials.
• Review supplier certificates and material test reports.
• Approve or reject materials based on specifications.

2. In-Process Inspection

• Monitor production processes such as:
• Wire drawing
• Stranding
• Insulation
• Laying & Armouring
• Sheathing
• Conduct dimensional checks (diameter, thickness, concentricity).
• Ensure process parameters are within specified limits.
• Record inspection results and report deviations.

3. Final Inspection

• Inspect finished cables for:
• Physical appearance
• Marking & printing
• Drum length verification
• Packing quality
• Witness routine electrical tests.
• Approve finished goods for dispatch.

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain inspection reports and quality records.
• Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) for defective materials/products.
• Assist in corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Ensure traceability of materials and finished goods.

5. Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with IEC, BS, ASTM, UL, or customer specifications.
• Follow company quality and safety procedures.
• Participate in internal and external audits.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of cable manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with inspection tools (vernier caliper, micrometer, spark tester, HV tester, etc.).
• Understanding of cable testing standards.
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
• Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 quality system.
