QC Microbiologist

Reporting To: QC Manager / Quality Assurance Director

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Microbiologist to join our Quality Control team. The successful candidate will be responsible for microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, and ensuring all products and processes meet applicable GMP and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products (TVC, sterility, bioburden, endotoxin/LAL, etc.)
• Conduct environmental monitoring of manufacturing areas including air sampling, surface sampling, and personnel monitoring
• Operate and maintain microbiological equipment (autoclaves, laminar flow cabinets, incubators, colony counters)
• Prepare, sterilize, and verify culture media; perform growth promotion and sterility testing of media
• Manage and maintain reference microorganism cultures (ATCC/DSMZ strains) per applicable procedures
• Investigate OOS (Out-of-Specification) and OOT (Out-of-Trend) results and prepare deviation/CAPA reports
• Support validation activities including cleaning validation, process validation, and method validation
• Perform microbiological monitoring and testing of water systems including Purified Water (PW) and Water for Injection (WFI), in accordance with pharmacopoeial specifications
• Perform microbial testing of primary packaging materials prior to use in manufacturing
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and prepare test reports in compliance with GMP documentation requirements
• Contribute to the preparation and review of SOPs related to microbiology
• Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, and customer audits as required
• Other Quality Control duties as assign.

Required Qualifications
Education & Experience

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Microbiology, Pharmaceutical Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a closely related field
• Minimum 3 years of microbiological laboratory experience in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical or veterinary manufacturing environment
• Hands-on experience with USP/EP/BP microbiological methods
• Technical Skills
• Proficiency in standard microbiological techniques: streaking, identification, enumeration, sterility testing
• Experience with LAL/BET endotoxin testing is a strong advantage
• Familiarity with environmental monitoring programs in classified areas (ISO/GMP clean rooms)
• Understanding of GMP, GDP, and quality system requirements
• Competence in laboratory documentation and data integrity practices

Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED3,500.00 per month
