QC Parts Mover

Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented QC Parts Mover to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently transporting parts within the production environment, ensuring seamless workflow and maintaining high standards of quality control. Your efforts will directly contribute to the accuracy of inventory management, adherence to quality systems, and compliance with industry regulations such as AS9100. Core Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspecting Materials: Conduct visual and basic measurement checks (e.g., using calipers or scales) on incoming raw materials and in-process parts for defects, damage, or inconsistencies.
  • Safe Transportation: Move parts, components, or finished goods between production stations, warehouse storage, and inspection areas using forklifts, hand trucks, or conveyors.
  • Documentation and Labeling: Accurately label parts with status (e.g., "Pass," "Reject," "Hold") and complete inspection reports, checklists, or data entry in ERP systems.
  • Quarantine Management: Identify, isolate, and label non-conforming or damaged parts to prevent them from being used in production or shipped to customers.
  • Inventory Coordination: Assist with receiving, organizing, and distributing parts to ensure a smooth production flow, often managing inventory turnover.
  • Process Compliance: Adhere to safety, quality control standards (e.g., AS9100D), and operating procedures.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to spot minor defects in materials or inaccuracies in labeling.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, walk throughout the facility, and lift/move heavy parts (often up to 50+ lbs).
  • Operational Equipment Familiarity: Experience with, or ability to learn, warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand scanners.
  • Communication: Ability to work closely with production operators, supervisors, and QC technicians to report issues.
  • Basic Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints, shop orders, or basic measuring tools is often preferred

Skills

  • Strong understanding of quality management systems including AS9100
  • Experience with calibration and use of precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and vision inspection systems.
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures including visual inspections, data collection techniques, and conducting quality audits.
  • Excellent analysis skills to identify defects or deviations during parts handling processes.
  • Ability to operate various measurement tools confidently while maintaining high accuracy standards.
  • Effective communication skills for documenting inspection results and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Experience and Education

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or QC environment, 1–3 years.

Pay: $18.50 - $22.50 per hour
