QC Structural Engineer

Job Expired

Eriksson Software is a Tampa-based structural engineering software development company with a specialization in plant-cast precast/prestressed concrete design and detailing. We develop, license, and support application software for the commercial, highway bridge, buried, and industrial structures markets. In recent years, we have greatly expanded our support of BIM-based workflows and AI-driven capabilities.

This is a unique opportunity for a structural engineer to apply deep technical experience in a non-traditional setting. You will report directly to our VP of Engineering and play a central role in shaping the quality of our product releases.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert for QA/QC across multiple software platforms
  • Review and proof-test software products prior to release, verifying outputs against hand calculations and applicable design codes
  • Collaborate interactively with our development team to assist with hand calculations and participate in the testing and validation process
  • Work closely with senior engineers and developers in a collaborative, mentorship-driven environment
  • Research and track changes in concrete design codes (AASHTO LRFD, ACI 318/319) and assess their impact on software functionality
  • Attend and participate in applicable industry committee meetings through PCI, AASHTO, and related organizations, with a path toward active committee membership. All travel and membership costs covered by Eriksson Software

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis
  • Working familiarity with at least two of the following design codes: AASHTO LRFD, ACI 318, ACI 319
  • Proficiency in at least one FEM analysis platform (e.g., RISA, SAP2000, STAAD, or similar)
  • Ability to perform and verify structural hand calculations
  • Commitment to working onsite full-time at our headquarters in Temple Terrace, Florida (Relocation assistance offered)

Preferred:

  • 3–5 years of experience preferred; exceptional candidates with relevant academic backgrounds will be considered
  • PE licensure (or actively pursuing) – Eriksson Software supports licensure attainment for qualifying candidates
  • Experience with MathCAD or similar calculation documentation tools
  • Coursework or hands-on experience in prestressed concrete design
  • Familiarity with PCI, IBC, or ASCE 7 standards
  • Awareness of structural engineering software platforms used in the precast industry (e.g., Eriksson Software products, PGSuper)
  • Current or past involvement in PCI, AASHTO, or related industry committees
