Position Summary
The Quality Control Technician Support Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring food safety, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance within our facility. This position supports SQF systems, HACCP/HARPC programs, and internal quality processes by maintaining accurate documentation, conducting verification activities, and coordinating compliance data.
This role is essential in protecting product integrity, supporting audits, and driving continuous improvement across quality systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesQuality & Food Safety Compliance
- Support SQF system compliance, HACCP, and HARPC programs
- Conduct verification activities for CCPs and Preventive Controls
- Identify and report food safety risks, quality issues, and non-conformances
- Implement corrective actions and communicate deviations promptly
- Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA/FSIS, and cGMP standards
Documentation & Systems Management
- Create, review, and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and QA documentation
- Manage document control, revision tracking, and record retention
- Maintain electronic document systems (Freshability) and ensure data accuracy
- Perform internal document audits and ensure audit readiness
Data Tracking & Reporting
- Track and trend quality and compliance data
- Report findings and trends to QA leadership and Food Safety Team
- Maintain logs for product holds, environmental monitoring, and supplier corrective actions
- Coordinate product sampling and lab submissions
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Communicate with internal teams to complete action items and ensure compliance
- Train QA staff on policies, procedures, and system updates
- Work with suppliers to obtain documentation and corrective actions
Quality Operations Support
- Conduct product inspections and sensory evaluations
- Manage product hold processes and ensure proper release procedures
- Assist with training records, audits, and special QA projects
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within quality systems
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, especially Excel)
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
Preferred:
- 1+ years of experience in food manufacturing or QA
- Knowledge of HACCP, HARPC, SQF, FDA, and USDA regulations
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in food manufacturing environments (hot, cold, wet conditions)
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed
- Minimum 8-hour shifts

Pay: $18.50 - $22.00 per hour
