We are seeking a highly motivated QS Billing Engineer with 2 years of experience in quantity surveying, billing, and site coordination. The role involves handling all aspects of Quantity Surveying (QS), including the preparation and certification of bills, measuring works, and managing project costs. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and quantity surveying techniques, along with experience in working with various billing systems and software. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate with both internal teams and external contractors/vendors are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Measure and assess work done on site and prepare accurate bills based on agreed-upon rates and contract terms.
- Prepare and submit interim and final bills for contractors, ensuring timely certification and compliance with contractual terms.
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets, estimate costs, and help in controlling expenses throughout the project lifecycle.
- Measure the quantity of materials used and works completed, including site visits to gather data and ensure accurate calculations.
- Identify and manage variations in scope, prepare variation orders, and update the billing accordingly.
- Keep track of the materials used on-site and compare them with the material procurement records. Ensure proper reconciliation and documentation.
- Maintain detailed records of work completed, including contracts, variations, drawings, and project schedules.
- Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, and project managers to ensure that the billing process is aligned with site progress.
- Manage the entry of data and documentation into billing systems such as Tally ERP or specialized construction billing software.
- Monitor and track the project’s cash flow by keeping an eye on incoming payments and managing liabilities.
- Assist in reviewing project contracts, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and compliance with legal norms and regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify completed works and ensure accurate measurement and billing.
- Assist in the preparation of final accounts for projects, ensuring all payments are processed and outstanding bills are cleared.
- Communicate with contractors and suppliers to resolve billing issues, discrepancies, and disputes related to project costs.
Skills & Qualifications:
- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Civil Engineering
- 2 years in QS billing
- Tally, MS Excel, or billing software
- Strong attention to detail in measurements and documentation
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Cost analysis and basic cost control skills
- Experience working at project sites
- Ability to work independently and with site teams
- Capable of resolving billing and contractor-related issues
