Job summary
Seeking an experienced QS & Billing Engineer-MEP to manage and oversee the MEP billing operations and cost estimation for industrial construction projects in Pune, India. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Electrical Engineering and MEP systems with 4 to 6 years of relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Billing Management: Oversee and manage the entire billing process for MEP components of construction projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the contract terms specific to industrial requirements.
- Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP systems, encompassing materials, labor, and equipment costs, specific to each phase of industrial construction projects.
- Quantity Surveying: Conduct precise quantity take-offs for MEP components and verify quantities against budgets and actual construction on-site.
- Contract Administration: Assist in the preparation and management of contracts related to MEP works, ensuring they comply with industry standards and project requirements.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of project documents, billing transactions, and financial reports to ensure transparent project tracking and auditing.
- Coordination with Project Teams: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to align billing processes with project schedules and objectives.
- Software Proficiency: Auto-CAD, Revit MEP, MS-Office
- Review of tender BOQ received from Consultant for MEPF services and release the same for procurement
- Responsible for the estimation and costing of Electrical, LV, ELV, HVAC, PHE & Firefighting works packages
- Estimation/taking of quantities based on Good for construction drawings and releasing the revised BOQ for amendments
- Corresponding with Consultants/Authorities regarding the specification/technical and BOQ any difference to tender requirements and raise queries for clarification prior to releasing the same for contract requisition. Requesting quotations from vendors for specialized work for costing & estimation purposes.
- Perform the technical and commercial review for the offers received from the vendors
- Reviewing BOQ and technical specifications wrt Client specs and providing comments
- Checking/validating vendors bills received from various sites wrt measurement sheets & terms of contract and post validation submitting the same to Client for payment process. • In case of clarification on bills & invoices, raising the queries to site team for clarifications & inputs
- Must be goal-oriented and ensure that given targets are achieved within turnaround time.
- Verification of works through site visits as needed
- Assisting on cost feasibility for Project requirements • Maintain all MEP QS documents and logs / registers applicable
- Benchmarking, cost estimation, and cost planning
- Dealing effectively with post-contract cost variances and the change control processes, where applicable referring major changes to line manager
- Taking personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects and in all cases ensuring that timely and accurate cost checking and valuation takes place
- Coordinate with clients SPOC and understand their requirements and accordingly act on deliverables related to QS.
- Assisting team lead in preparation of various reports related to quantity surveying & billing assignment
Key Requirements
- Experience: 4-6 years of experience as a QS and Billing Engineer with a focus on MEP systems in the ommercial sector.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering/ Mechanical (B.Tech/B.E.) or a related field.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in billing and cost estimation methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-6 years of pre and post-qualification experience in a similar role
- Should have experience in MEP Estimation (ELECTRICAL LV, ELV HVAC, PHE & Firefighting)
- Technical knowledge of commercial and industrial projects • B.E/B.Tech - Electrical/Mechanical
- Good knowledge of cost management, cost planning & estimation
- Fluent English communication skills including, reading, writing and speech.
- Proven cost and/or commercial management experience, ideally within a consultancy environment.
